My cross to bear…

Ever heard this one, “Oh that’s just my cross to bear…”  I’ve heard it said to describe life’s small irritations and the really, really hard stuff too.  I’ve heard it used to describe a painful marriage or difficult children, bad allergies and chronic pain.  I’ve heard it tongue-in-cheek to describe habits we’d rather not break and people we love way too much to let go.  And I don’t think any of it is what Jesus meant.

This Sunday, we’ll hear the invitation from Jesus, to follow him, cross and all.  It’s not cakewalk to be sure, but I certainly think it’s worth the effort.

What does it mean to you to follow Jesus?
